The Federal Ministry of Environment Donates Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Equipment to Etiwa Tech

8 Apr 2024

Etiwa Tech has been selected as one of the beneficiaries for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) servicing training equipment and tools under the Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) Phase-out Management Plan (HPMP) project initiated by the Federal Ministry of Environment and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The project, aligned with the Montreal Protocol's objectives, aims to phase out 1274.05 metric tons of HCFC-22 consumption in the Refrigeration & Air-conditioning Servicing (RACS) Sector by 2040. As part of this initiative, equipment was donated to establish and upgrade training centers dedicated to educating technicians on the safe use of HCFC-alternative and Low Global Warming Potential (GWP) refrigerants, as well as enhancing energy efficiency in the RACS sector.

The handover ceremony, held on April 5th, 2024, at Cool Plus Ltd. in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, witnessed the formal presentation of the equipment to Etiwa Tech and other beneficiary organizations by the Honorable Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Environment, Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako. This initiative underscores the government's commitment to environmental protection and the promotion of sustainable practices within the RACS sector.

Etiwa Tech's participation in this endeavor also highlights its pivotal role in driving innovation and excellence in environmental stewardship, positioning the company as a key player in the transition towards greener technologies in Nigeria's industrial landscape.
