Course Description

This decorative painting course is an ideal way to explore the world of painting and bring a unique and creative touch to your home decor. With engaging classes and instruction from our experienced instructors, you will start out by learning the fundamentals of painting to basics of painting with a variety of mediums, from decorative putty to different decorative designs. We will then explore the fundamentals of design, such as composition and perspective, so you can create works of art that are as pleasing to the eye as they are to the heart. By the end of the course, you will have gained the skills and knowledge needed to create beautiful decorative paintings that you can proudly display in your home. Most importantly, you would have had in-depth practical knowledge on Stucco/Venetian Plaster and Travertino design. PRE-COURSE REQUIREMENTS & TARGET GROUP Must be a practicing painter, entrepreneurs, paint technicians, and anyone interested in learning more about the production of paint products. COURSE DURATION 2 Weeks | Monday – Friday: (9:00am – 4:00pm) LUNCH & TEA BREAKS Provided daily HOSTEL ACCOMODATION This is available at an extra cost MODE OF DELIVERY Our trainings are held in a comfortable and modern facility, delivered in an interactive and engaging format. •Each trainee will be issued with a comprehensive folder of course notes, covering the scope of the course. The use of overhead projectors and power point presentations are employed throughout. •Trainees are encouraged to ask questions and to take an active part in class discussions. •30% theory and 70% practical •Each trainee will be issued with hand tools and power tool required to do all practical tasks. •The instructor demonstrates how to do the task to small groups, the number depending on how difficult the task is. LEARNING OBJECTIVES On successful completion of this course each trainee will have a comprehensive understanding of the following: •Health and Safety in Decorative Painting •Identifying of Decorative Painting Tools and Materials •Surface Preparation •Wall Skimming •Stucco/Venetian Plaster •Travertino design ASSESSMENT Multiple-choice examination & competency based practical examination CERTIFICATE On completion learners will receive a certificate issued by Etiwa Tech.
