Course Description

When it comes to optimizing energy usage in buildings, identifying potential areas for savings is crucial. A pivotal method for achieving this is through conducting an energy audit. This audit delves into how energy is utilized within a facility and offers an analysis of alternative measures that could effectively cut down on energy costs. By utilizing measured data acquired from an energy audit, it becomes possible to closely monitor operational and equipment changes, ultimately leading to enhanced energy efficiency and optimization of energy usage. PRE-COURSE REQUIREMENTS & TARGET GROUP This course is for Utility Managers, Engineers, Facility Managers, Graduate Trainees, Energy Managers, Environmental Managers, Production staff COURSE DURATION The course is 5 days and has a contact period of 40 hours, Mon – Fri: (8:00am – 5:00pm) with a class size of 25. LUNCH Provided daily HOSTEL ACCOMODATION This is available at an extra cost MODE OF DELIVERY 1. Classroom Presentation - using PowerPoint and Visual Aids. 2. Equipment illustrations and use 3. MS Excel calculations 4. Practical hands-on Sessions. 5. Use of audio/videos to demonstrate current industry practices. 6. One-to-one instruction and team-building exercises in groups. 7. Discussion and feedback from participants during each topic forms an important element of the learning process. LEARNING OBJECTIVES At the end of this training participants will be able to do the following : 1. Enumerate the benefits of energy audit and energy efficiency in buildings 2. Identify potential areas for energy savings in buildings 3. Implement energy efficiency measures 4. Use industry-standard tools for energy measurement and monitoring ASSESSMENT This course is assessed through a multiple-choice examination, as well as a competency-based practical examination.
