Course Description

Learn the skills to become a UX or UI Designer. This course teaches UX & UI design concepts, industry-standard tools, and research methods. You'll build a portfolio of projects and receive one-on-one mentoring to prepare for your new career. PRE-COURSE REQUIREMENTS & TARGET GROUP Trainees within age group 18 years and above that possesses a SSCE level Certification. All Participants are required to have a personal laptop. COURSE DURATION The course is 8 weeks | 3 days a week: (9:00am – 5:00pm) HOSTEL ACCOMODATION This is available at an extra cost MODE OF DELIVERY •Classroom Presentation - using PowerPoint and visual aids •practical sessions, audio/video resources •One-to-one instruction and team-building exercises in groups. Feedback from the participants during each topic forms an important element of the learning process. LEARNING OBJECTIVES On successful completion of this course each learner will be able to do the following: • Design thinking for creative problem solving, describe mindsets for designers, explain UI/UX and job specification. • Create People centered design, describe how to reflect on a problem when designing, explain design principles, discuss user research for designing your product/service •Create methods for innovation, generating ideas, describe the process of bundling your ideas to create a concept. •Design a mobile app •Design a website landing page •Build a portfolio. COURSE CONTENT/TOPIC •Welcome / Course overview, user experience design, user interface design •Differences between UI and UX •Design thinking process; empathize, define, ideate, prototype, test. •Design Principles; contrast, balance, emphasis, proportion and hierarchy •Stages of UI Design A & B •Creating your figma account & the environment figma- locating icons & creating frames •Importing Images & Duplicating A & B, creating & manipulating shapes. •Masking In Figma, understanding grids •Component and styles A & B, design system, wire-framing, quiz, iconography 1,2&3 app design (clean cruiz) pt. 1,2&3, screen design. •Website design pt. 1,2&3, how to prototype, sharing your design, land page design. ASSESSMENT • Multiple-choice examination & Project based practical examination CERTIFICATE On Successful completion of this course, learners will receive a certificate awarded by Etiwa Tech
